The Law of Attraction

Money can be one of the trickiest things to successfully manifest using the Law of Attraction.  When you think about it, what is money?  It’s not paper or round metal objects. 

It’s not paper checks or balances on a computer screen.  Money is an abstract medium of exchange.  The paper and coinage and checks and balances merely represent this medium, which is not truly physical.  Because of the abstract nature of money, mind plays a very strong role in one’s ability to acquire, hold on to, and accumulate money. 

Let’s look at why manifesting money can be so difficult and how to get around the problems…

The most important fact to understand is that money, for most of us, is nothing more than a means.  We do not care about money.  We do not care about dollars and cents.  We care about that lovely house, that brand new car, or that killer computer system.  We care about our time, about our freedom, and about our hobbies.  But we do not actually care about the green pieces of paper that make that possible.

Ironically, many of us, upon learning about the Law of Attraction, immediately attempt to try attracting money into our lives.  This is not impossible to do, but there is a very high probability of failure. 

This is due to the fact that we don’t really care about money itself.  If you don’t really care about money itself, you can not muster up enough emotional energy to manifest the money.  Or you can, but it takes much longer and far more work than you set out to invest in it.

So the challenge is this: we all need money.  How do we manifest it?

And here’s the solution.  Make a list of all of the reasons that money is so important to you.  Financial freedom.  Freedom from debt.  Freedom of time.  Freedom to have the things that we want.  Your dream house.  Your dream car.  Your dream jewelry.  Your dream home theatre.  Any of these are fantastic reasons to want money.

So here’s what you do.  Instead of visualizing money and attempting to attract money, you visualize freedom, cars, houses, etc.  Visualize the things that you really want, that only money can make possible.  If you manifest a new car, obviously the money has to be there, right?  So work on manifesting the car, and you will have loads of emotion, excitement, and energy to put into it.  The money will roll in as a means, and then you will manifest your car. 

Focusing on the ends is vastly superior to focusing on the means.  The universe is a brilliant, organic, self-aware entity.  It can do literally anything.  When you leave the means to the universe, you never know how it’s going to happen, but you can rest assured that it is going to happen!

The biggest pit fall to manifesting money is that we try to manifest money.  Manifest the things that money can buy!  That will suck the money to you like crazy.  Attempt to manifest hundred dollar bills however, and you can expect to fail. 

Now that you know this little secret, you are in the perfect position to begin successfully attracting what you want and the money you need to have it.

So many people work so hard to make money only to find that, rather than create more money, they only create more work.

If we understand the Law of Attraction (that we get more of what we put our attention on), it only makes sense.

Our attention is on the work – on what we have to do to make money. But you don’t have to do anything, and in this infinitely abundant universe, you don’t have to make money; it’s already everywhere.

What’s more, those working so hard to make money are making money; they’re just not keeping it, or using it for the things they desire. “But I have bills. I have needs that must be met before I can spend on my desires,” the argument goes. The typical conclusion? “I simply need to make more.” So how do we make money to meet our needs and fulfill our desires?

Focus on the desire. One of the fundamental keys to attracting money into your life is, rather than focusing on the money, focus instead on what it is you want that money to help you do or have.

We already focus on money and work and meeting our needs, and look what happens. The Law of Attraction brings us money and work and meets our needs (we eat, we have shelter, and we’re not dead yet). Focus on that which we desire and the Law of Attraction will also bring us the means to attain it. It’s not an either/or situation; not in this universe, it isn’t.

On a spiritual level it can be argued that the only reason you don’t have the money for what you want yet is because either you haven’t seen yourself as having that desire fulfilled or you haven’t brought yourself into energetic alignment with its happening. Either that or you already do have the money for what you want here and now and your vision is just too clouded for you to see it.

Fear of scarcity and lack cloud our ability to recognize our current state of abundance. We’re so afraid of losing what we have or of not having enough for what we need that we cling to whatever we do have; we horde. This keeps us cut off from the free flow of infinite abundance that is our natural state. Our focus on scarcity and lack creates more scarcity and lack. Our focus on the little we do have keeps us having little.

Despite common misunderstanding, “Money is the root of all evil,” is not how the saying goes; it’s actually: “The love of money is the root of all evil.” Money is just a means to an end. Fixating on the means rather than the end is the error. That just keeps you locked in a vicious and exhausting cycle of pursuing endless means. The ‘end’ is just your current desires.

Are your desires evil? If you judge them to be so, then it’s your desires you may need to change. But chances are you don’t think your desires are evil. Removing the stigma you may have about money is a invaluable step in allowing money to pass through your hands.

Everything is in motion. Like water, like breath, like time – everything flows. Disengaging from the flow is the way to create and perpetuate and reinforce the illusion of scarcity and lack. Engaging in the flow is the way to attract affluence.

As someone interested in the Law of Attraction, I imagine you have likely asked yourself, “What do I need to do in order to become a money magnet?” 

In fact, the answer to that question is far more simple than you may imagine, and at the same time a bit tricky. 

Allow me to explain…

Most people, when first learning the Law of Attraction, decide to go after things they “want”.  The problem with this is that “wanting”, in the strictest sense of the word, means “lacking”.  So these folks start off by focusing energy on lack, and get nothing back.  Then, angrily muttering to themselves, they denounce the Law of Attraction and resume their daily lives.

But not you, right?  You’re a smart cookie!  You know there’s something to the Law of Attraction.  You know you just need to learn how to use it and your life will be opened up to your wildest dreams.

You would be correct.

So how do you become a money magnet?

First and foremost, value the money you already have.  When you receive a paycheck, meager though it may seem, appreciate it fully!  Without that, you would have nothing, and something is always better than nothing when it comes to money.  Feel gratitude for the money you have already – at least it pays for what things you can currently afford. 

When you see a penny on the ground, this is a test.  A penny is money.  To your subconscious mind, as well as the universe, money is money.  When you ignore that penny, you are sending a clear signal saying “I do not want money”.  Obviously, this isn’t a message you want to send.  Pick up that penny and be grateful for finding it.  Because you know the secret now – that penny is a test for your abundance awareness. 

It is jokingly said that Bill Gates would stop everything to pick up a penny, despite the fact that he is a multi billionaire.  Rather than see that as a statement of greed, I see that as a statement of magnetism.  If we stop spending time chastising people we are jealous of, we might just learn something.

As your subconscious begins to get the idea that money is important to, valuable to, and much appreciated by you, more will begin to show up.  Stay aware of money coming in, and keep your mind in a receiving mode.  Be sure to stop and appreciate each bit of money that comes your way.

Finally, an opportunity will come your way to help you really make the big bucks.  Keep your eyes and your mind open and be ready for it.  When this opportunity presents itself, you will feel it inside, and know that it is time to act. 

You must always be ready to act on opportunities that you attract, lest you lose your desired outcome by turning away.  Don’t expect to manifest a million dollars directly into your bank account – the process of life is organic, and the way in which your manifestations will come to you will be organic. 

In fact, from the outside, these things will appear to be “luck”, “chance”, or “being in the right place at the right time”.  In reality, there is no such thing as any of those – there is only the Law of Attraction and magnetization.
